Nik Aziz critic accuses detractors of gender bias

Farahana also challenged those who lodged police reports against her to come up with a list of 10 things that set Nik Aziz apart from Ayah Pin, the cult leader who is now said to be hiding in Thailand after religious authorities tried to arrest him.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Malays Network (JMM) national director Farahana Jamaludin, who caused an uproar in the Pas camp when she equated Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat to a cult leader, has accused the party of gender bias.

She accused party members of lashing out against her merely because she was a woman and they had never reacted in such a manner to statements from other JMM leaders.

Farahana also challenged those who lodged police reports against her to come up with a list of 10 things that set Nik Aziz apart from Ayah Pin, the cult leader who is now said to be hiding in Thailand after religious authorities tried to arrest him.
She was quoted in a Bahasa Malaysia daily recently as saying the Pas spiritual leader was like Ayah Pin because both were free to do as they wished, and their followers could not admonish them because they were considered "pure".
